“From being displaced to dropping out of school, Brenda is now back to being both a student & commercial farmer”.

“Brenda, 20 grew up in the Northwest Region of Cameroon where she schooled through Primary school and was in Secondary when the Anglophone Crisis broke out.

She was forced to move to New Bonako, a locality about 15km from Douala where she resides with a relative. She dropped out of school for a few years because of financial constraints, but her passion to complete her education was unwavering. She finally resumed school in late 2023, but was still unsure of how to pull through school. Through the microloan project, she received $500 and invested in a yam plantation.

"This support has restored my hope and made me believe in my dreams again. I am now able to pay  my school fees from my farm income. I am confident that I will continue with my agricultural  activity and become a nurse which is my dream.” Brenda.
